Kais Bouzidi

PROPRIETOR

Originating from Paris, France, Kaïs Bouzidi grew up in a family of restaurateurs and began his career in the restaurant industry working alongside his father. After learning the fundamentals of hospitality in Paris, he moved to San Francisco at the age of 21, where he immersed himself in the local food culture and market.

In 2007, Bouzidi opened Sens, a Mediterranean restaurant on the Embarcadero that has since become a San Francisco staple, known for its seasonal cuisine, sweeping views, and one of the city’s most popular happy hours. Inspired by his French and Tunisian heritage, as well as his travels throughout Southern Europe and North Africa, Bouzidi brings a unique blend of cultural influences to his restaurants.

Building on Sens’ success, he launched Barcha in San Francisco’s Financial District, a vibrant bistro with Parisian flair that quickly became a favorite for both corporate clientele and locals. In 2024, he introduced Bon Délire, a French restaurant that reflects his Parisian roots with a modern and playful twist.

Most recently, Bouzidi has been developing Hayati, a modern Middle Eastern eatery designed for scale, highlighting street food traditions with a refined approach. Hayati will debut in the historic Ferry Building.
